On September 24, the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition ADEX, the largest event in the region dedicated to the defense industry, opened at the Baku Expo Center. At the same time, the 14th International Exhibition of Internal Security, Protection and Rescue Equipment Securex Caspian opened.
The exhibition is held on the initiative and with the organisational support of the Ministry of Defence Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan and support of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The organizer of the exhibition is the Caspian Event Organisers, and its international partner, Caspian Event Management.
At the official opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Minister of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vugar Mustafayev, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants and guests of the "ADEX" exhibition.
"This exhibition is a unique platform to share the important achievements and innovations of many advanced countries in the field of defense industry. It can be confidently stated that the ADEX exhibition, held for the 5th time, will once again be conducted at a high level, just as in previous years. ADEX plays a unique role in establishing connections between the defense industries and leading companies of friendly and allied countries. This exhibition creates extensive opportunities to familiarize participants with modern defense technologies and the latest examples of military equipment across various sectors of the military-industrial complex in the global arms market, as well as to enhance international military-technical cooperation and sign new contracts. Hundreds of world-renowned companies showcase their products at the event. ADEX is important for strengthening the defense capabilities of different countries, increasing production capacities, implementing modern and innovative solutions, and facilitating the exchange of experiences.
I am also confident that the equipment, security systems, and promising models of weapons exhibited at the Securex 2024 exhibition, held in parallel with ADEX, will be met with great interest from participants." said Minister Vugar Mustafayev.
The first ADEX exhibition was established in 2014. This year it celebrates its 5th anniversary, continuously expanding its participant list and the sectors it covers with each edition. Over the past decade, the exhibition has brought together numerous companies and nearly 200 official delegations representing more than 50 countries worldwide. More than 30,000 visitors have attended the event during these years.
The high status of ADEX and the international recognition of the project are testament by the traditional visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the exhibition. This year the scale of the ADEX and Securex Caspian exhibitions expanded further, showcasing a growth in the exposition compared to previous editions. This year, the exhibitions will occupy the entire area of the Baku Expo Center, including its newly opened 4th hall and outdoor space.

A comprehensive business program has been developed for the ADEX and Securex Caspian exhibitions. During the exhibition, the "National Military Industry Complex of the Future" startup project will be presented. In 2022, the "Vision 2022 - National Military Industry Complex of the Future" project, held as part of the “ADEX” and “Securex Caspian” exhibitions, was a great success. Inspired by this success, startups have the opportunity to showcase their projects at the 2024 “ADEX” and “Securex Caspian” exhibitions. The “National Military Industry Complex of the Future” project will feature startups in defense technologies, protection, rescue, robotics, and cybersecurity.
Additionally, numerous business meetings will be held during the event, facilitating bilateral discussions between exhibition participants, representatives of relevant Azerbaijani institutions, and international delegations.
Panel discussions on topics such as " Automation and robotics in the defence sector," "The experience of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the reconstruction of liberated territories," "New technologies in the defense industry: drones and unmanned systems," "Radiation safety, security of radioactive sources and response to accidents," "Application of modern medical equipment in military medicine," "Evolving threats: collective efforts for environmental protection," "Regulation of international oversight on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity and the military industry," "The role of cyber diplomacy in reducing cyber warfare" and etc. will take place during the three exhibition days.
For the first time, an International Cyberdiplomacy Conference (ICCD) will be held in parallel with the ADEX and Securex Caspian exhibitions. Scheduled for September 25 at the “Fairmont Baku” hotel, the conference will be organized by the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Romanian Cyberdiplomacy Center. The main partners of the event are the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Center for Analysis of International Relations.
