Today, Azerbaijan’s defence industry has entered a new stage characterized by quality, the application of modern technologies, and science-intensive production achievements. As a result of the purposeful and pragmatic state policy pursued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, our country is no longer merely a user of advanced technologies, but also a creator of innovative solutions that make fundamental contributions to the global security architecture.

The special attention given by President Ilham Aliyev to the organization and development of the “ADEX” exhibition has elevated this unique platform to the status of an intellectual hub where the defence doctrines of the future are discussed. Current global developments demonstrate that in the modern era, the reliable provision of national defence capabilities and security is no longer based on quantity, but on technological superiority, the application of artificial intelligence, and the effectiveness of robotic systems. Positioned at the center of this global transformation, “ADEX 2026” presents participants with intelligent systems, cybersecurity solutions, and aerospace achievements capable of addressing the most complex defence challenges.

The priority directions defined within the policy confidently pursued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, serve to ensure sustainable peace in the region, the security of large-scale economic and transport projects being implemented, as well as the development of our country’s defence industry.

The 6th “ADEX-2026” Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition is a platform of special importance in terms of discussing technical solutions to security issues and familiarising oneself with modern defence technologies applied across various sectors of the military-industrial complex. The holding of such exhibitions, which positively influence the development of the defence industry, creates broad opportunities for the products manufactured by participating countries to enter the global market. 

Regarding the development of Azerbaijan’s defence industry, I would like to note that our country already possesses a strong defence industrial potential. In our military factories, alongside the production of more than a thousand types of defence products that are competitive on the global market through the application of modern technologies, we continuously carry out high-quality repair and modernisation of combat vehicles, aviation assets, and other military equipment. 

The increasing number of countries represented at the “ADEX-2026” International Defence Exhibition from year to year confirms once again that it is a prestigious international event attracting the attention of many states’ military-industrial enterprises, and also demonstrates Azerbaijan’s growing standing on the international arena. The “ADEX-2026” exhibition is one of the important indicators of our achievements in the field of international cooperation. 

I would like to proudly note that, thanks to the attention and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, as well as the continued support of First Vice-President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, our army is equipped with the most modern weapons, ammunition, and combat equipment developed using high technologies. 

I am confident that the meetings and discussions to be held during the days of the 6th “ADEX-2026” Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition among representatives and guests of participating countries will create favourable conditions for further expansion of military and military-technical cooperation.
