On September 26, the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition ADEX concluded at the Baku Expo Center, marking the largest event in the region dedicated to the defense industry. Concurrently, the 14th International Exhibition on "Internal Security, Protection, and Rescue Technology" Securex Caspian took place.
A central highlight of the event was the visit of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, who attended both exhibitions. The head of state toured major stands from foreign countries and domestic exhibits, emphasizing the relevance of modern weapons and military-technical equipment for Azerbaijan’s defense capabilities. The exhibition also served as a successful illustration of the celebration of Azerbaijan's State Sovereignty Day, with one of the key slogans being: "May our territorial integrity and sovereignty be eternal! Long live Azerbaijan!"
To participate in ADEX, organized with the initiative and support of the ministries of defense industry and defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, representatives from numerous companies and official delegations from various countries gathered in our country. Over three hundred official delegates represented Algeria, Belarus, Bahrain, Hungary, Vietnam, Georgia, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Morocco, Pakistan, Russia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Somalia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Croatia.
VIP guests, military experts, and leading players in the global arms market noted the excellent organization of the event, showcasing modern weaponry and effective methods for combating armed aggression and terrorism.
In 2024, the scope of the ADEX and Securex Caspian exhibitions significantly expanded compared to previous years. The increased exhibition space occupied the entire area of the Baku Expo Center, including a new fourth pavilion and an outdoor area.
For the first time, the Ministry of Defense's stand was presented, featuring modern weapon systems and equipment for special forces, along with detailed information about specialized training institutions under the National Defense University. ADEX-2024 showcased the ITX-15 M and ITX-20 H armored personnel carriers, which are domestic developments from 2024. The ITX-20 H is an MRAP-class vehicle (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) designed for personnel transport. The ITX-15 vehicle is equipped to provide emergency assistance.
For the first time, a locally produced weapon known as "Turan-1," developed by local engineers and manufactured in 2024, was introduced. Thousands of visitors showed great interest in unmanned systems, combat vehicles, military laboratories, engineering systems, weapons manufacturing equipment, optical-electronic systems, firearms and ammunition, radiation, chemical, and biological protection (RCB), electronic warfare systems, and technologies for demilitarization, among many others.
During ADEX, Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with his Kazakh counterpart, Colonel General Ruslan Jaksylykov. Both sides highlighted that the bilateral military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is based on friendly and fraternal relations, with defense collaboration further strengthening the armies of both nations. The meeting concluded with the signing of a plan for bilateral military cooperation for 2025 and a memorandum between the national defense universities.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov also held discussions with his Italian counterpart, Guido Crosetto. The meeting focused on military and military-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy, along with an exchange of views on expanding bilateral relations.
The event was organized by Caspian Event Organisers and its international partner, Caspian Event Management.
